He gives the teaching that is appropriate and necessary for individual male and female bodhisattvas\, for dakas and dakinis\, and his teachings can be disseminated immediatley or hidden for a later time\, as needed. Guru Padmasambhava appears whenever a disciple needs him. He is particularly active at the times when the sun rises and sets.
