Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche 2024 North American Tour

Gangteng Rinpoche teaches beings out of compassion; he is prompted by his wish to assist all beings to engage with and realize the dharma. Further, Rinpoche travels and teaches to raise funds to support almost 70 branch monasteries, temples and retreat centers in Bhutan, as well as over 2,000 monks, nuns, and gomchens. Nowhere is his selfless motivation more clearly displayed than in his visits to North America, because these tours demand substantially more energy from him than his visits to Asia or Europe.

During the covid years Gangteng Rinpoche remained in Bhutan, but most days he was engaged from morning till night, tending the dharma needs of his spiritual household inside and outside (through live online teachings) Bhutan, which actually expanded during these years. In 2023 Rinpoche began once again to tour, first in Asia and then in Europe. His 2024 international teaching schedule includes an inaugural visit to Australia, followed by, happily, North America: Canada, Mexico and the U.S.

Most auspiciously, all four segments of the Kunzang Gondu Dzogchen cycle will be offered in North America this summer—an unprecedented gift. Experienced students who have completed all or part of the Kunzang Gondu cycle will have the opportunity to deepen their relationship to Dzogchen practice by re-taking all or some of these retreats in a single summer.

The specific retreats being offered in each location are confirmed: YK in Canada will host the second and third sections, Trekchod and Togyal; while YK in Mexico will host the first and fourth sections, Rushen and Bardo. Note that the sequence of the retreats has been determined by the readiness and number of the students in each geographic area for the specific teachings, not by the typical order of presentation of this teaching cycle. The usual practice requirements apply to each section of the Kunzang Gondu cycle.

Rinpoche will also be teaching in the United States in Los Angeles and Crestone. These program details will be released as soon as they become available.
